Vegan, Dairy-Free Toasted Wheatgerm


Toasted wheat germ

Toasted wheat germ tastes so much nicer than  when you just pour it out of the packet.

It tastes much sweeter. Once you’ve toasted it you need to put it in a sealed glass jar in the fridge.

Wheat germ contains many nutrients, iron and zinc in particular and as much first class protein as a steak. So it’s well worth using it.

Preheat the oven to a temperature of 125 sprinkle sprinkle 300 g  onto a clean grill tray and place it in the oven.

Remove it from the oven when some of the wheat germ has changed colour and gone darker brown (approx 15-25 minutes) but does  not look burnt.

When it’s cool pour it into a glass container and store it in the fridge.
